Dr. Susan M. Korch established her Hershey solo orthodontic practice in March 2002. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for college and dental school, where she received her B.S. in 1991 and her D.M.D. in 1995. She then completed her three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1998. From 1998 until 2002, she was employed as an orthodontist in private practice but always aspired toward her dream to have her own office, which would enable her to have both a career and a family. Establishing her Hershey office has been a lifelong goal, and she desires to have a practice that serves her patients in the same manner in which she hopes to be treated…clinical excellence in a friendly, caring place!
Dr. Korch met her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Appleby, in dental school in Pittsburgh, and they married in 1998. Tom is a general dentist and has a solo practice in Carlisle, Pa. Their son, Aidan Thomas Appleby, was born on March 3, 2004. The name Aidan means “fiery spirit,” and true to his namesake, he is full of personality! Susan and Tom felt that after their many years of schooling, parenthood would be a surmountable task, but it has proven to be the most challenging job of their lives. However, it has also been the most rewarding job…their little Appleby is the apple of their eyes!
In her “free time,” Dr. Korch enjoys yoga, music, theatre, reading and spending time with her family.
